Partner Profile: Air Methods

Air Methods is a dedicated air medical transport provider, extending the reach of critical care access for patients nationwide. They have also been a devoted partner to Junior Achievement (JA). Through their financial support of JA and their volunteer engagement, Air Methods has bolstered JA programs and affected students across the Denver metro area.

During the past three years, Air Methods has provided more than $60,000 to support JA programs. Their generous contributions have allowed us to reach almost 2,000 students. Furthermore, Air Methods supported JA’s annual Golf Tournament by acting as a hole sponsor this spring, and for the past two years, they’ve donated a helicopter ride at the JA Golf Tournament Silent Auction, delighting auction participants.

Since 2012, 67 Air Methods employees have participated in over 100 volunteer opportunities. Most notably, Air Methods volunteers have made a significant impact in the lives of local high school students by helping them explore the world of work through the JA Job Shadow program. During these events, Air Methods has hosted students at their facilities, giving students the opportunity to see what a professional’s life looks like. JA Job Shadow prepares local high school students to be entrepreneurial thinkers in their approach to work. As one Job Shadow student put it, “I leaned how everyone working together can make something bigger/better than a single person could.” By giving these students a taste of the real world and their possible futures, Air Methods volunteers have inspired students to reach higher and work harder to meet their potential.

On top of these efforts to further JA’s mission, Aaron Todd, CEO of Air Methods, supports JA by serving on the JA-Rocky Mountain Board of Directors. Additionally, Mr. Todd has taken time to present to students at Overland High School about real world business topics through JA Capitalism with a Conscience. This program offers students a unique glimpse into ethics from the perspective of our local business leaders and the chance to think critically about their values and approach to ethical dilemmas.
